Mark Gorman in his blog has located a vintage photograph showing workmen laying tram tracks at the foot of Leith Walk:
The image may be familiar, but there appear to be more workmen than can typically be seen on a Carillion work-site.
At times it may feel that the work has been ongoing since the original picture was taken.
One wonders whether the residents and traders were concerned at the complete closure of the road to allow the track-laying?
