Leith's three Michelin-starred restaurants feature in a review article in the Wall Street Journal on 22 October:
following a whistle-stop summary of Scottish culture and the history of Leith (in 222 words) there are praiseworthy reviews of Martin Wishart (www.martin-wishart.co.uk), The Kitchin (www.thekitchin.com) and the Plumed Horse (www.plumedhorse.co.uk).
As the review suggests, even residents of Edinburgh may appear suprised at the high quality of dining which is available to be sampled in Leith.
While Michelin-starred restaurants may be beyond the reach for many on grounds of cost, there are numerous gastronomic delights to be discovered in Leith covering a wide range of tastes and budgets.
Reviews such as this in a high-profile international publication, mentioning Leith in such favourable terms are to be welcomed and it can only be hoped that they serve to encourage visitors to make the short journey down from the city centre to sample all that Leith has to offer.
