Following an invitation from the Guardian Local, supporters of the Edinburgh Trams voiced their support for completing the project in an article on 20 May:
Many of the supporters focused on the need to build the whole line, some advocating pressing ahead, whatever the cost. The argument that too much money had been spent on the project not to continue, was also a common theme, as were the abstract ebnefits which a tram system would bring.
